Financial Times: Facebook communications chief departs

Facebook’s head of policy and communications, Elliot Schrage, is stepping down, making him the most prominent executive to depart since the company was plunged into crisis by its involvement in the 2016 presidential election and this year’s Cambridge Analytica scandal. Mr Schrage was criticised by a Facebook shareholder earlier this week in a comment article in the Financial Times. Natasha Lamb of Arjuna Capital, which has pressed the company to publish a report about gender pay differences, said he had told her the company did not respond to her at its annual meeting because she was “not nice” — a comment she said some might interpret as “patronising and sexist.”
