Facebook, Inc. investors will vote this week on a slate of shareholder proposals aimed at bringing more accountability to the social-media giant from reporting on gender pay equity to accountability for its policies against fake news and sexual harassment. Arjuna Capital, an impact investing firm, presses Facebook  to report on how well it protects its platform from abuses such as hate speech, violence, and political interference. With mounting controversies over data privacy and election interference, these shareholder proposals may have increased support for these initiatives in companies whose chief executive controls the majority of voting shares.
