What is ‘Median Gender Pay Equity’ and Why Is It important?

Natasha Lamb, managing partner, Arjuna Capital (https://www.arjuna-capital.com) announces the 11 bank and tech companies that Arjuna Capital is targeting in 2019 with median gender pay equity resolutions. “Median gender pay equity,” which compares the pay of all men to all women in a corporation, is a tougher standard than equal-pay-for-equal-work gender pay equity data. The gap reflects such things as a lack of women in high-paying executive jobs. To date, Arjuna Capital has compelled 22 companies to disclose gender pay equity data and related reforms.
