International Banker: Banks now under increasing pressure to address the gender pay gap
Citigroup is the first US bank to provide wage date divided by gender and ethnicity. Banks have been reluctant to share this kind of data, but proposals from shareholder activists like Arjuna Capital have provided impetus for companies like Citi to take public action on its gender pay. According to Arjuna’s managing partner Natasha Lamb, Citi is “stepping into a leadership role on the gender pay gap that we have not seen from any of its US financial peers."
